Aczone
Aczone claims that you can eliminate your acne and see significant differences in just 12 weeks.
They provide before and after pictures, and they claim that this will help you to finally see the results you need. So does it work?
Inside Aczone
Aczone uses a 5% concentration of an ingredient called dapsone. Dapsone has technically been clinically proven to fight acne. However, obviously, judging by the pictures, its results are rather small and take time to say the least. In that 12 weeks, you see it starting to work. They do not really picture another 12 weeks/3 months down the road.
That would tell us more about how well it works once it gets started or if it just keeps working as slowly or stops working in the long run for that matter. The problem is that when we look at the pictures, these people spent 3 months using this formula religiously and we hardly see any benefits at all. This being said, prescriptions tend to take a little longer.
Side Effects
All in all, the reality is that this formula will not work the way you want, and along the way, it may also cause some side effects such as redness, feeling of warmth, irritation, itching, peeling, redness, hyperpigmentation, increased sun sensitivity, stinging, and dermatitis. These are of course common to a number of different products such as benzoyl peroxide.
Conclusion
Products with benzoyl peroxide seem to show substantially better results. They cause side effects, but they are a bit better. The thing is we would never promote something like benzoyl peroxide. But when we can honestly say that benzoyl peroxide is better than this product, that speaks volumes to say the least. It is a scary thought in some ways, and we would definitely not recommend using this particular formula.
